For the child soldiers, life after death

Darfur has been described as 'apocalyptic' by Matthew Conway, a member of the UN refugee agency who has visited the country. Estimates put the death toll at over 200 000, with over 2.5 million displaced. Neither New York nor the United Nations Security Council is attempting to deal with the political issues according to Jan Pronk, from the former UN envoy to Sudan.

The child soldiers who survived the second Sudanese civil war that left over 2 million people dead are being helped by Unicef in southern Sudan (The Independent).
