Hopefully dialogue first before we let loose the dogs of war!

The London Daily Telegraph newspaper stated yesterday that the Sudanese president had "Threatened to Eliminate leaders of the South", this voiced  at a time when the situation is perilously teetering on the brink of full scale civil war!

The President of Sudan Omar al-Bashir was planning to rally his troops to defend his territory. "These people don't understand, and we will give  them the final lesson by force," he told his troops in El-Obeid, capital of Sudan's North Kordofan province.  All were concerned about the ownership of the oil in the province
But today the South Sudanese eased the tension by ignoring a number of provocations including the bombing of civilian targets. Bashir vows to free the south and retake Juba less than one year after giving public support and spirited agreement to the independence of the South. South Sudan said they would make an "orderly withdrawal" from the oilfields around Heglig in answer to urging from the UN. Heglig is in South Kordofan which is a disputed area in Sudan. A referendum is yet to take place to resolve the argument as to who manages this part of Sudan. The government would "create an environment for the resumption of dialogue"
Bashir on whose orders bombings were conducted, has been cited by the War Crimes Court in the Hague. He is a man whose situation is similar in so many ways to that of Bashar of Syria. How many innocent people's lives will be lost in both countries!
