The Qataris have brokered a partial peace in Dharfur. This kind of cherrypicking is of dubious value. I just wish they could have done better - but the nature of the process is flawed if you don't go for national reconciliation. So the Qataris have brought an end to Dharfur violence? I sincerely doubt it: Qatar's diplomatic initiative has brought to an end seven years of violence and bloodbath in Darfur, a terrain of Sudan blessed with immense yet unutilised natural resources.
